What Participants Say

Orwell Walk, Run and Cycle 2016

Mr J Hetherington, Kesgrave
I have great pleasure in enclosing a cheque for £145, the amount due as a donation to the Rotary Club of Ipswich East.

As a first timer on the event, (I was attracted by an article printed Kesgrave News), I had a thoroughly enjoyable time, and even though I was walking solo, I found the friendly atmosphere generated by the other walkers, and especially your excellent check-point marshals, lightened the strain from the aching muscles.

I think I may have stimulated a response from my daughter who is currently talking about joining me for next year's walk. I'll keep watching the website to check the date has not changed!

My thanks to you and your fellow organisers from the Rotary Club, an excellent event. Long may it continue!

Lee Day, Hadleigh
Please find enclosed a cheque for the sponsorship money for the Orwell Walk, Run and Cyce. Lee Day has raised £65, which was more than originally stated. John Day has raised £58, giving a total of £123.

We have nominated the Rotary Club of Ipswich East as our sole charity for this money.

Pat Caddick, Ipswich
Thank you for the opportunity to make just under £300 for our Guide Company. This has enabled us to keep open.

Daniel Frost, Secretary, Woodbridge Town Youths Football Club
This year was the first our club has participated in the walk and it has been a huge success with us raising over £2,000 towards our new training area project. We still have some way to go to ensure the youngsters of Woodbridge have a terrific and safe environment to play football and develop their skills.

Please pass on our gratitude to your members for a superbly organised event.

Mrs Heather Quinlan, Committee member, L' Arche

Please pass on to all the members of the Rotary Club of Ipswich East a huge 'thank you' from our team of twenty walkers. We all had an enjoyable morning. The route took us through beautiful countryside and the registration desk and all the check points were manned by such friendly and welcoming people.

Congratulations on a superbly organised event!

Our chairman Stephen Serpell, who had the pleasure of telling your members about our project at the beginning of June, has asked me to pass on his very special thanks too.

Mrs T Everett, Kesgrave
Please find enclosed cheques for money raised by my daughter Louise and myself.

Could you please pass on our thanks to all the people who gave up their time to provide refreshment and encouragement on the way. Although we were quite exhausted by the end, we were proud to have taken part and enjoyed most of the walk! We realise we couldn't have done it without your band of helpers.

We were pleased to hear how much money had been raised by the walk. We may well see you again next year.
